Isaiah 58:6–12

“If you offer yourself to the hungry and satisfy the afflicted one, then your light will shine in the darkness, and your night will be like noonday. The Lord will always lead you, satisfy you in a parched land, and strengthen your bones.”

What happens when we take God at His word—and build something in the middle of a small town that reflects His heart?

Isaiah 58 paints a picture of what happens when we not only worship God with our lips, but walk out His love with our lives. It’s a call to compassion that goes deeper than charity. It’s about showing up, day after day, to satisfy the afflicted, loose the bonds, share bread, and be present in the brokenness of the world.

This is what we feel called to do in Rapid City, MI.

The Vision: A Ministry Space for Real People in a Small Town

Since January, we’ve been serving the Rapid City community in practical, simple ways through Community Coffee Hour. We’ve listened to stories, prayed with and for people, delivered drinks to the
school, and started a Bible study across the café tables.

And now, we believe it's time to plant something permanent.

We’re launching a fundraising campaign to purchase and renovate a space in the heart of Rapid City—a building that will become:

• The Filling Station — a warm, welcoming coffee shop that builds relationships and sustains the mission
• A ministry center where people can find resources, connection, and space to breathe
• A community anchor for support, conversation, spiritual growth, and hospitality

Why “The Filling Station”?

In Isaiah 58, God says that when we offer ourselves to the weary, we will become like a watered garden and a spring whose water never runs dry.

That’s what we want this place to be – a filling station. For faith. For friendship. For everyday hope.

The Goal: $100,000 by August 15

This is our startup phase—raising enough to secure the building. The total project goal is $300,000, but this first milestone helps us put down roots.

We’ve broken it down creatively using a “gas can” giving model—symbolizing different square footage levels. Every gift helps us purchase a portion of the building.

Closing Thought

The promise in Isaiah 58 isn’t just about personal blessing. It’s about what happens when a community of people commits to being repairers of broken walls and restorers of streets where people live (v. 12).

That’s what North Light Ministry is becoming.
